According to NCEMC,
in cases of long-term kidnapping in which the child was found alive, 85% of the victim did not consider the kidnapper to be a stranger. |

the cases in which a child was found dead, the perpetrator was identified, it was clear that the child would have considered the individual a stranger. |

These statistics are
powerful reasons to teach children a different approach that "Don't talk to strangers." This approach frightens them without any proven benefit. |

self-defend themselves if the situation should confront them. |

the community by awareness; through monthly meetings between the
community and a wide scope of guest speakers, including, but not
limited to: licensed professionals who work with child
predators, parents who have missing children, and other
professionals who can provide another look at the situation. |

To build the most comprehensive and effective program available to our kids and community. |
